Start small

Always try to start small. Do not jump on going in for long time exercises. The first attempt to do five minutes of guided meditation. And slowly increase the minute as it becomes a constant part of your daily routine. At the start, you may not feel calm or relaxed. But make it a point to sit at least for 5 minutes in peace. At last, you will start to feel the need to sit and do meditation. Do not long to sit for 30 minutes, only sitting for 10-15 minutes is enough to be benefitted.

Find the right time

Many people will advise you various times to meditate but the right time is when you feel comfortable doing it.

If you try to do it at times you are not comfortable with you may end up frustrated and demotivated to do it.

To avoid it you should try to meditate at various times to see what time suits you. You can opt for various times as in the morning, right before bed, while commuting, or during a break at work.

But whatever time you choose try to stick with it consistency helps you to make a newly developed habit a daily routine.

Get comfortable

Try to adopt a comfortable position to do meditation. It is not necessary to copy the position you see people doing if you are feeling uncomfortable sitting in that position. It is hard to meditate if you are physically not comfortable. Just try to do the posture you can get in naturally and easily just as lying down or sitting on a chair.

If you are not comfortable sitting and doing you can meditate while walking or standing.

You can also make a specific cozy comfortable meditating space. You can create an environment where lighting candles, soothing music, or pictures of loved ones can all aid in peaceful meditation.
